Clatsop Community College celebrated the grand opening of the renovated Patriot Hall on September 19, 2017. Serving to renew the original 1921 Patriot Hall and its tribute to soldiers of war, the new building project included selective demolition of the concrete and wood structure and preservation of much of the existing foundation and the western-most perimeter walls. It also included the construction of 36,000 square feet of new learning, wellness, and administrative spaces for campus and community use. With its prominent location at the entrance to campus, the $16-million facility serves as a beacon to the community below and offers a 540-seat gymnasium, cardiovascular and weight-training areas, and an indoor running track with commanding views of the Columbia River. The project was designed by SRG Partnership and catena consulting engineers, and constructed by P&C Construction.
