Legacy Emanuel Randall Children’s Hospital is a 238,000-square-foot, eight-story children’s hospital housing pediatric and intensive care units, neonatal care units and the pediatric emergency department. Completed in 2012 with $160 million in construction costs, the structure includes composite steel floors with steel columns and two special reinforced concrete wall cores. It is supported by deep auger cast concrete piles. The building’s design includes a suspended MRI in order to meet the strict vibration criteria for pediatric suites and imaging.
