Oregon State University Johnson Hall

Corvallis, Oregon

Owner: Oregon State University

Architect: SRG Partnership, Inc.

Contractor: Hoffman Construction

Johnson Hall houses the School of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering at Oregon State University. This 62,400-square-foot, three-story superstructure consists of composite metal deck and structural steel-framed floors and roof. It also boasts a reinforced concrete bearing shear wall lateral force resisting system and a cold-formed steel and supplemental structural steel cladding backup support system. In order to maintain a column-free auditorium on the ground floor, a full-story steel transfer truss was required. Completed in 2016 with $34.2 million in construction costs, Johnson Hall received LEED Silver certification.
