University of Oregon Historic Anstett Hall

The 17,500-square-foot, three-story renovation of this unreinforced masonry building was designed to integrate into the newly adjacent Lillis Business Complex. Utilizing the capacity of existing materials to minimize seismic strengthening, we added concrete shear walls, strengthened diaphragms and braced exterior walls for out-of-plane seismic forces. With $6.8 million in construction costs and LEED Certification, the project was completed in 2011.
