University of Oregon Historic Peterson Hall

Housing classrooms, a lecture hall and offices, historic Peterson Hall is 19,000 square feet and three stories tall. This project included the addition of concrete shear walls and strengthened diaphragms, as well as braced exterior walls for out of plane seismic forces. Utilizing the capacity of existing materials, we were able to minimize seismic strengthening. The project was completed in 2008 with $6.3 million in construction costs and LEED Equivalent certification.
