University of Oregon James F. Miller Theater Complex

This extensive expansion of the Theater complex includes two-story, 25,000-square-foot additions to Villard Hall and Robinson Theater. Large volume, acoustically sensitive space was created with much of the structure exposed, which required a keen attention to detailing. The structural design of the theater involved the use of a tension grid system and fly tower. Completed in 2009 with $5 million in construction costs, this project received the AIA Portland Citation Award (2011).
