Provided the structural design of two, new two-story public office buildings with a total area of 50,000-sf for the Oregon Department of Forestry. Both buildings feature large expanses of exposed steel framing and sloped wood roof sheathing, much of which was reused from previous buildings on the site. The choice of a steel structure allowed for an open layout and the opportunity for natural lighting to reduce energy use. Also, worked with the architectural design team to provide a clear and lightweight structure that became a significant design element for the project. While with another firm, Chris Thompson served as Principal-in-Charge.
